i don't know if i've said it before, but it's extremely hard for me to get into "new" hip hop. i'm a big fan of my old music, and there's never a day where i can find "new" songs, from the old era.. i find that it's extremely rare for new music to be good. however, this kida dude has a something that i'm interested in.

the tape consists of eleven tracks. i think it's his second mixtape, but it's the first one i'm hearing. he starts off hungry with a track called, "board meeting". his voice is simple, and rugged.. and he enunciates extremely well! i love that in rappers, tis half the reason why i dig slug. when you take words and throw so much power on them, i can dig that. it makes words harder and stronger, with that you get a better vibe of what the fuck the rapper is trying to say. emotional words make the best words, and good songs. shit is appealing to me.
i listened to this song three times before continuing on with the tape.. when i heard "gucci this, prada that, i'm tired of this rap.. ima retire, matter fact, im gonna bring it back, to it's essence".. fuck, i was intrigued. plus his cadence goes off, he's all over the map.. he dips in fast, travels slow.. then his bars come in with mis-matches that rhyme with the middle of a bar, back to the end of it.. and it goes fucking well/ you can barely hear him take a breath!!
his voice is rugged with a little bit of a rasp to it.. it hasn't completely won me over, like i dig it but it's not a new sound. it's kind of comparable with game's voice actually, but with a budden swag.
punchlines leak and spill over the entire tape.. and a lot of them are witty as fuck.. there were a few lamers, BUT with the amount of metaphors on the tape, the lamers are excusable.. does anyone even do that anymore?!
this tape is basically him saying "fuck everyone, i'm awesome".. and i don't think you can be a rapper without thinking that. the beauty of this tape is how bad this guy wants it. when listening to it you get that vibe.. you almost want to become a fucking rapper man. kida is reaching in the cookie jar, and he doesn't give a fuck how high the shelf is. 3.5 / 5

remember how i said he barely takes a breath.. well later on in the tape, there's a pause, and he goes "man i'm glad that's over, i gotta uh.. catch my breath for a second.. all in a days work homie". LOL.. told you.
