In 1992 Green Lantern rings were given to some of hip hop's illest DJs. The simple jewellery pieces ended up symbolizing so much more than what the world had anticipated. There is no better way to document some of the dopest musical talent than what LRG has produced for us. This short documentary is every hip hop lover's dream. Meet the Beat Junkies! J-Rocc, DJ Babu, D-Styles, DJ Rhettmatic, DJ What?!, Mr. Choc, Icy Ice, Curse, DJ Shortkut, Melo-D, Symphony and DJ Havik scratch and cut their way to show music addicts everywhere, just how much they have given to the music world. The best part? They're ridiculously humble about it.

Let's celebrate that humbleness. To share the 20th anniversary love, LRG presented each crew member of the Beat Junkies with custom varsity letterman jackets. So ill!

If there's one way to remember one of LA's most inspiring hip-hop DJ crews, it's by looking at the Beat Junkies. Twenty years of turntablism has never looked this good. LRG Clothing Company and the Beat Junkies have put together "For the Record", a short-form documentary that is sure to please hip hop enthusiasts and music lovers alike. Other DJ legends, including A-Trak and Jazzy Jeff, take to the documentary to speak on just how much the group has changed both the hip-hop world and culture.

Let the tour begin! Stops include the United States, Europe, and Asia with their first starting in Los Angeles on Saturday, June 30, 2012.



The documentary's online debut date has been set for July 2, 2012.

LRG is also pleased to be doing a limited edition capsule of Beat Junkie 20th Anniversary t-shirts and hats. They will be available for purchase the night of the tour launch as well as tour dates.

i've had a terribly rough week. since last monday my world done went to shit.. and after hearing this, i reminded myself.. things'll look up. i'm in a really good place. i won't let anything/anyone ruin it.. and yo, i'm having a good ass time doing that.

so it was sick. as you can probably tell. slosh slosh slosh. wicked people, and mad cameos. & i didn't feel COMPLETELY out of place (cause i usually do=/ lol).. BUT IT WASNT SO BAD. my homeboys made everything they could to make me feel at ease.. and that's exactly how the night ended up being, EASY. EASY LIKE SUNDAY MORNING.
i finally got my halloween costume.. & i'm really excited for halloween!! it's my favorite holiday next to christmas! YUP. even before my birthday!! & everybody knows how much i love my birthday! HOWEVER.. i've been seeing a lot of g's halloween pictures.. and i have to say.. some girls, wack wack wack wack. i really hope i don't look as bad as some of these girls do. THEY TURNED MY BAT GIRL COSTUME (fr.2 years ago, thank goodness) INTO A FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT THAT HAS BEEN IN THE SUN FOR TOO LONG & HAS TURNED TO SHITTY DUST. honestly! YOU LOOK SO BAD! ahaha. (cheers to hoping my costume doesnt look redic!!) this drunk guy was dropping shit and trying to yell numerous slurred sentences into my ear today.. i gave him a piece of my mind! (almost.) trying to tell me i wasn't doing something right, UHM HELLO DRUNKIE, it is 1 in the afternoon and you are making a mess and scaring people!! seriously, if you're gonna be drunk, go ahead and do it. just don't cause a ruckus during the middle of the day, and don't bother people who are trying to go about their lives. uhh yeah.
