MIDNIGHT NOM NOMS.

the other night lex and i were walking around time square. we fell upon this really quaint italian/greek bakery. we got some freshly squeezed orange juice, some baklava, and an eclaire. the owner then handed us cannolis as a free token of appreciation. we grabbed a table in times square and had some late night chit chat. we were both extremely tired and bitchy, but were able to sit there in absolute calmness while the city bustled around us.
a few kids between the ages of 14-18 were rapping at the top of their lungs to anyone who would listen. every third or fourth word was "nigga" or "fucka" or "weed", yet 40 year old soccer moms could not get enough image of them on their video tapes.. and as his hand grabbed mine, i thought "new york has never sounded so calm".

NEW YORK LESSON #3: no matter how loud it gets, you can still hear the silence.

NEW YORK LESSON #4: cannolis taste better when they're free.. and when a guy from scarborough is holding your hand.
